How to Cut Audio Files

Learn how to use My Audio Cutter to cut audio files MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, FLAC, AIFF, AAC, M4A, AC3, WavPack and etc.


In this tutorial, we are going to use My Audio Cutter to cut audio files into pieces. You may download My Audio Cutter here. Complete My Audio Cutter setup and run it. 

Step 1. Import audio or video files

Click on the import button to import audio or video files for cutting.  


Step 2. Make selection

Your source audio or video will be loaded and you shall see series of waveform in green generated. There are 2 ways you can make selection on the audio segment to be cut out.
a) Enter the selection start / end time manually
b) Use the mouse to click and drag the start / end point on the waveform.
 
You can click on the Play button to hear the selection.  

To switch the end time selection to length based, click on the down arrow beside End selection label.  


Step 3: Apply Fade in / out effect ( optional )
You may apply fade in / out effect to the output audio. This will make the audio sound smooth.

Step 4. Cut Audio 
By default the output audio format is set to MP3. You may click on the down arrow for more output audio format optionsClick on the Cut Audio to begin the audio cutting process and it will then ask you to specify the output location and filename

Upon completion, My Audio Cutter will open the output folder automatically.
