.avi to flash

Postby weerstationroeselare.be » Mon Jun 06, 2011 1:49 am

Dear videozilla users,

I'm having colour troubles while converting .avi to flash files.
The flash result is very blue-ish.
Please visit http://www.weerstationroeselare.be/timelapse3.htm
underneath the page there are my comments.

Is there something I can do?
Thanks looking into this matter.

(version 3.1 installed, commercial version)

Hi,

You may try to download and install FFDshow at http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm [ FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2010-09-02 MMX ] . Convert the avi video again after
the FFDshow installation. Thank you

Thanks Rick,

Unfortunately after reprocessing the base .avi-file and reconverting it to flash the flash result stays blue-ish.
The base .avi and compressed one comes out as before no detectable change in colours there. So the .avi -files are perfect.
The problem stays that the converted flash file has this ugly blue tone all over.

I guess the problem is within the avi to flash conversion with videozilla.
Commands used to convert the files:

Code:
cd \program files\videozilla\
convert /flash /file c:\sites\timelapse\temp-lapse.avi /odir c:\sites\timelapse\ /flashp 6 /flashloop 1

Any other suggestion?
Regards,
Fred

Hi Fred,

We tried to convert the avi video that you sent over to us and the output flash video is good. Which version of QuickTime player are you using? Maybe you can update your QuickTime player to the latest version at http://www.quicktime.com . Other suggestion will be using MX flash instead of flash 8.

Now the result is OK.

What I did ...
the original .avi is 276Mb big.
I did compress this file changing the resolution to the final 640x240px and saved it in .avi
I used this compressed file to generate the flash .swf
Now the colours come out perfect.

Are you interested why the original .avi file isn't coming out right? I uploaded it and can now be found here : http://www.weerstationroeselare.be/live/temp-lapse.avi
as said the file is 276 Mb big. (give it another hour for the upload to be succesfull)

Strange ... but feeling happy now

Regards,
